Costuming pros get into the act at DHT
Find distinctive costumes and accessories at Diamond Head Theatre’s costume shop, which has extended hours for Halloween. From Saturday through Nov. 1, the shop will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Personal assistance is provided by DHT’s costume design professionals and volunteers. Full costumes and items such as hats, capes and other props are available.
Rental fees start from $25, based on costume type and duration of rental.

Thrift store to treat winner to iPod Touch
Goodwill Industries of Hawaii Inc. is inviting all to find an alter ego at its thrift stores for a chance to win an iPod Touch and gift cards.
Start by shopping for your Halloween costume at Goodwill stores to receive an "I shopped at Goodwill" sign.
Create your costume using at least one item from your store purchase, then take a selfie in costume holding the sign. Upload the photo to Goodwill’s Facebook page at www.woobox.com/thtq2i where viewers will vote for their favorite look.

Gift fair kicks off holiday shopping
The holidays are near, and the Season’s Best Craft and Gift Fair will help you ease into shopping mode.
The event takes place 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Blaisdell Center exhibition hall. There will be more than 200 booths, with prizes awarded every 15 minutes.
Vendor Blue Bird Jewelry Hawaii will offer a 20 percent discount to its Instagram followers.
Admission is $3 general and free for ages 6 and younger with paying adult.
