1. King For a play
» Situation: Hawaii 0, Nevada 0, 0:16 remaining, first quarter, Hawaii ball, second-and-10 at Nevada 38
» The Play: QB Ikaika Woolsey fakes a hand off, rolls right and throws a perfect pass to WR Donnie King. King runs the remaining 20 yards for a 38-yard touchdown and the first score of the game.
» Impact: After a long drive ended with a blocked field goal, Hawaii came back with a four-play, 75-yard drive capped by the Woolsey-King connection. Hawaii dominated the first quarter with 149 yards to 29 for Nevada.
» TV color commentator Rich Miano: "That wasn’t a good pass. That was a great pass."
2. Turning point
» Situation: Hawaii 10, Nevada 0, 1:50 remaining, second quarter, Nevada ball, second-and-9 at Hawaii 29
» The Play: After Nevada is saddled with first-and-15 due to a penalty, QB Cody Fajardo completes an 8-yard pass to Hasaan Henderson to put the offense back on schedule, setting up third-and-1.
» Impact: In the next three plays, Fajardo covered the final 21 yards with his legs for Nevada’s first score. An officials replay review on his 6-yard touchdown run near the out-of-bounds and the pylon did not result in overturning the TD. Nevada scored 26 consecutive points.
» Hawaii coach Norm Chow: "We knew (Fajardo) was going to be a factor in the ballgame and we needed to contain him better than we did. We thought we had a plan, but he felt otherwise."
3. Sacked

» The Play: Woolsey is sacked by DE Lenny Jones for a loss of 6 yards and Hawaii is forced to punt.
» Impact: Hawaii had the ball for 10 plays and netted 15 yards in the third quarter. That helped Nevada amass 182 yards in the period. Nevada possessed the ball 24:26 of the 30 minutes after halftime.
» Hawaii center Kody Afusia: "They burned a lot of the clock. It was pretty frustrating to look up and see time slowly go by and slowly go by."
4. Scramble

» The Play: Fajardo appears to be trapped by three Hawaii defenders about 8 yards behind the line of scrimmage. But he escapes and scrambles for 10 yards and a first down.
» Impact: Nevada continued its domination into the fourth quarter. Fajardo rushed 23 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns and completed 17 of 26 passes for 128 yards and another touchdown.
» Hawaii linebacker Simon Poti: "The guy makes plays. You have to tip your hat to him."
5. Lineman’s dream, interrupted

» The Play: C Matt Galas ends up with the ball in the end zone after Fajardo’s pass is tipped.
» Impact: After replay review, the pass was ruled incomplete. K Brent Zuzo then made a 20-yard field goal, capping a 19-play, 85-yard drive that consumed 9 minutes, 30 seconds of clock time.
» Galas: "I was glad the drive was over. It was a long one. And I was happy to have six points, even though they don’t exist."
