Brigham Young-Hawaii back to No. 4
After a week at No. 5, Brigham Young-Hawaii moved back to No. 4 in the AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 on Monday.
The Seasiders (17-4, 14-1 PacWest) remained behind the three teams that defeated them the first week of the season: No. 1 Tampa, No. 2 Minnesota-Duluth and No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul. Former No. 4 Nebraska-Kearney fell two spots following a five-set loss to then-No. 21 Central Missouri last week.
BYUH has three road matches this week, playing at Dixie State on Wednesday, Azusa Pacific on Friday and Cal Baptist on Saturday.

Mejia named Defender of the Week
Chaminade goalkeeper Rene Mejia was named the Pacific West Conference Defender of the Week after making five saves in the Silverswords’ 1-0 win at Hawaii Pacific on Saturday. The junior from Canton, Mich., kept the Sharks, the fifth-highest scoring team in the conference, out of the net for only the second time this season. It was also his first win and shutout of the year.
The win snapped the ‘Swords’ seven-game losing streak and marked the first victory over crosstown rival HPU since 2007. Chaminade was 0-17-2 against HPU during that span. The victory, Chaminade’s fourth of the year, set a program record for single-season wins.
