Boxers still undefeated in NWC

Pacific (Ore.) quarterback Warner Shaw (Kamehameha-Hawaii ’12) threw the game-winning 25-yard touchdown pass in overtime to keep the Boxers undefeated in the Northwest Conference with a 48-42 victory over Lewis & Clark on Saturday.

Shaw was a surgical 18-for-22 passing for 254 yards and five touchdowns to allow Pacific (5-2, 5-0) to take over sole possession of first place in the conference after Linfield (Ore.) had its 41-game regular season win streak snapped.

The Boxers trailed by a touchdown when Shaw threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Fukumoto with 1:18 remaining to send the game into overtime.

Fukumoto, a 2010 Saint Louis alumnus, finished with five receptions for 93 yards.

Running back Bronson Barretto (Kamehameha ’12) scored on a 29-yard touchdown run and finished with 57 yards on nine carries, with Kamana Pimental (Saint Louis ’12) carrying the ball eight times for 22 yards.

Barretto also returned three kickoffs for 105 yards.

Defensively, linebacker Trey Kodama (Kamehameha ’12) led the way with seven tackles, assisting on one for a loss, and safety Chase Rogers (Lahainaluna ’11) made six tackles and intercepted a pass. Junior Nicholas Schilla (Punahou ’12) assisted on a sack.

The Boxers can clinch at least a share of the NWC championship for the first time since 1952 with a win over Willamette (Ore.) on Saturday in their regular-season home finale.

Dydasco ties UCLA assists record

UCLA senior Caprice Dydasco tied a Bruins single-game record with three assists in a 6-0 win over Washington on Sunday.

Dydasco, a defender, has helped the Bruins record shutouts in six consecutive games and go 577 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal.

UCLA, the No. 1 ranked team in the country and defending national champion, has won 40 matches in a row.

Dydasco (Kamehameha ’11) had two of her assists in the first seven minutes of the match. She has started all 19 matches for UCLA (17-0-2) this season and has two goals and seven assists.
