Man charged with robbery
A 32-year-old homeless man has been charged with robbing a Nimitz Highway-area business Sunday after he allegedly assaulted an employee.
Kami Thompson was arrested Tuesday night after he allegedly attacked a store worker Sunday as he fled with stolen merchandise. Thompson was charged with second-degree robbery. His bail set at $30,000.
Suspect is hospital escapee
A 32-year-old woman who was arrested for shoplifting at an Ala Moana Center store Tuesday was discovered by police to have escaped from the Hawaii State Hospital at Kaneohe.
Ala Moana Center security guards apprehended the woman just after 8 p.m. and turned her over to police, who discovered that she had escaped from the State Hospital, a mental health facility. The police arrest record did not say how long she has been missing from the hospital.
She was arrested on a second-degree escape charge.
Vehicles stolen from UH-Manoa
Two vehicles were stolen Wednesday morning from the University of Hawaii’s Manoa campus.
A green John Deere maintenance cart was stolen from the landscaping office and a silver 2013 Zhongneng moped with license plate number W59684 was stolen from the Hale Noelani parking, the UH-Manoa Department of Public Safety reported.
