» The Play: On the second play from scrimmage RB Dee Hart goes through a hole on the right side and cuts back left for a 43-yard run.
» Impact: Colorado State established control of the line of scrimmage early and scored on its opening drive. Hart rushed for 115 yards on 11 carries with a touchdown.
» Hawaii defensive coordinator Kevin Clune: "We have to stop the run game. We have to play gap sound up front. We have to tackle better."
2. Safety First
» Situation: Colorado State 7, Hawaii 0, 8:19 remaining, first quarter, Colorado State ball, first-and-10 at own 2
» The Play: QB Garrett Grayson drops the ball and falls on it behind his own goal line for a safety.
» Impact: The play, set up by Scott Harding’s punt that was downed at the 2, put Hawaii on the scoreboard early.
» Grayson: "That’s something, being a senior, I can’t do that in the end zone. I can’t fumble the ball like that and give them two free points."
3. Rashard Who?
» Situation: Colorado State 14, Hawaii 5, 15:00 remaining, second quarter, Colorado State ball, first-and-10 at Hawaii 30
» The Play: Grayson steps up in the pocket and finds TE Steven Walker across the middle for a 30-yard touchdown.
» Impact: Grayson’s third touchdown pass was his sixth completion to that point, to five different receivers. Colorado State’s passing game did not miss a beat without injured Rashard Higgins, the nation’s leader in receiving yards and touchdowns.
» Colorado State receiver Charles Lovett: "Rashard’s a good player with lots of talent, but that’s not an excuse for us to slack off or feel sorry for ourselves."
4. Swiss Army Knife

» The Play: P Scott Harding kicks 31 yards to PR Dee Hart, who fumbles the ball. It is recovered by Austin Slade-Matautia at the Colorado State 45 and Hawaii retains possession.
» Impact: Hawaii drives to the Colorado State 18 and Tyler Hadden kicks a 36-yard field goal. It was the ninth time in his career and fourth this season that a Harding punt resulted in Hawaii still controlling the ball. Harding also led Hawaii with six catches for 63 yards and a touchdown and returned two punts for 25 yards.

5. Pulling Away

» The Play: QB Ikaika Woolsey completes a short pass to TE Harold Moleni. S Preston Hodges forces Moleni to fumble and it is recovered by S Kevin Pierre-Louis for Colorado State at the Hawaii 22.
» Impact: Two plays later Grayson threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game, to WR Xavier Williams. Hawaii battled back with two second-half touchdowns but Colorado State never fully relinquished the momentum in improving to 9-1.
