‘HOSTESSES’ RECALL OLD HAWAIIAN DAYS
Ruth Lung, left, Patsy Hicks, Elsie Palafox, Libby Antone and Ivanelle Choy reminisced about flying for Hawaiian Airlines in the 1950s — when they were known as “hostesses” and the standard passenger plane was the 1930s-vintage DC-3 — as several generations of former Hawaiian Airlines crew members celebrated the carrier’s 85th anniversary Saturday at the Ala Moana Hotel.
