The Hawaii Friends of Sabeel, the Muslim Association of Hawaii, the Hawaii Coalition for Justice in Palestine and various other organizations and University of Hawaii departments and centers will host three events featuring Noura Erakat, an international human rights attorney and activist.
Erakat is a co-founder and co-editor of Jadaliyya, an independent e-zine produced by Arabe Studies Institute. Also, she’s an assistant professor at George Mason University, and has taught international human rights law in the Middle East at Georgetown University.
She has helped to initiate and organize several national formations including AMWAJ-Arab Women Arising for Justice and the U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN). She serves on the board of the Institute for Policy Studies and is a policy advisor to Al-Shabaka and a founding board member of the DC Palestinian Film and Arts Festival.
Erakat has appeared on PBS, NPR, BBC and Al-Jazeera. Her writings have been published in The New York Times, The Nation, Foreign Policy and The Huffington Post. Her talks in Honolulu will focus on themes tied to Palestine, Israel and the "politics of resistance." The events, listed below, are free and open to the public.

Pupu and performances will follow, including readings from the "Life in Occupied Palestine: A Special Biography Issue," by Yousef Aljamal, www.facebook.com/ biographypalestine?ref= br_tf.
