Creation could win cash
Kids, help us get in the holiday spirit and trim our pages with your holiday creations. Design an ornament for our annual Keiki Kalikimaka contest and you’ll have a chance at prizes of $100, $75 and $50 cash. We’ll select a daily finalist, to be printed in the newspaper beginning Nov. 29. Other entries will appear on Hawaii News Now. On Christmas Day we’ll run all 27 finalists and announce the randomly chosen winners.
The contest is open to kids age 12 and younger. All entries must be between 5 and 10 inches wide. No 3-D entries (don’t glue on any objects). We must receive your drawing in the mail — no faxes or emails. Ornaments cannot be returned. Attach the entry form below. One entry per child. The last day to enter is Dec. 17.
Share your holiday display with readers
If you go all-out for your outdoor holiday decorations, get listed in our annual Holiday Lights guide Dec. 15. Provide a description of the display and a photo if possible. Be sure to include your street and email address and phone number.
The Today section also is looking for exceptional or unique holiday-bedecked yards for our Garden Party series.

Send your events for holiday fun guide
Don’t look now, but Christmas is just around the corner. To help our readers get the most out of this festive season, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Today section will publish its annual guide to holiday happenings on Sunday, Nov. 30.
The guide comprises a list of Santa encounters, parades, mall events, gift and craft fairs, holiday craft workshops, music and concerts, stage and screen presentations, Honolulu City Lights and other family fun.
