Three inmates failed to return from work furlough programs on Thanksgiving eve, and a fourth missing inmate was arrested, the Department of Public Safety said Wednesday.
Nikki Spears, 25, who is serving time for forgery and identity theft, was supposed to return to TJ Mahoney furlough home in Kalihi at 3:15 a.m.
Spears’ next parole hearing is scheduled for February.
On Hawaii island, Tasha Gardner, who is serving time for theft, forgery, burglary, ID theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, failed to report for her scheduled check-in at the Hawaii Community Correctional Center. Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside of the facility, but must check in at various times each week.
Gardner was supposed to go before the parole board next month.
Also on Hawaii island, Jordan Kaneshiro, 27, failed to return to the Hale Nani Furlough Center after job-hunting.
He left for interviews on Wednesday morning and was scheduled to return at 2 p.m.
He was serving time for terroristic threatening and abuse of a family member. His next parole hearing is scheduled for January.
All three inmates will face an escape charge when they are apprehended, authorities said.
A fourth missing extended furlough inmate, Coburn Kaimiola Jr., is back at Hawaii Community Correctional Center after his arrest Friday.
Kaimiola failed to return on July 11, 2013, from a Kona furlough facility.
He was serving time for car theft and drug charges, and had a parole hearing scheduled next month.
