High-surf advisory to last through Sunday
A high-surf advisory remains in effect for the east-facing shores of Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Maui and Hawaii island through 6 p.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory in response to a north-northeast swell that, combined with wind waves, is expected to produce surf of 6 to 8 feet along east-facing shores. The public is advised to expect strong breaking waves, shorebreak and strong currents that could make swimming dangerous.
