Center offers wares, South’s fashions
Honolulu Design Center’s Cupola Theatre will be the setting for a "Holiday Fayre" artisan shopping event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, free to the public with free parking.
If you get hungry, the adjoining Stage restaurant will be offering a low tea fashion event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the same day, with tea and edibles, and a fashion show by Ari South for $38.95.

Find rare preserves, crafts at Kaneohe
Nake‘u Awai is hosting a Holiday Market Place 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Koolau Ballrooms in Kaneohe.
The marketplace will be open to the public prior to the designer’s sold-out "Musical Revue of Fashions."
Featured at the marketplace will be island fruit preserves from Happy Tamanaha, including a rare batch of ohelo berry jam, Bill Char’s hake wreaths, lau hala items from Lorna Pacheco, hats and Hawaiian foliage by Curtis Loo and Tommy Boyd, kapa items by Moana Eisele, feather work by Paulette Kalepuna, Hawaiian artwork by Harinani Orme and vintage Ming’s, Hawaiian jewelry and Niihau shell lei from the collections of Watters O. Martin, Linda Lee and Donn Kashiwamura.

Get gifts and grub at A Pinch of Salt
Kakaako’s A Pinch of Salt will bring dozens of artists and pop-up retailers under one roof from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The event is a preview of Salt, Our Kaka‘ako’s retail and food experience set to open in fall 2015.
Joining featured designer Sig Zane will be Salt Liko, Kira Hawaii, Ari South, The Cut Collective, A.Wattz Dezigns, Hiilani Hawaii, Nak on Wood, Megumi, Happy Town Hawaii, Mojo Barbershop and Wrappily.
There will also be food for purchase from Onda Pasta, Pinwheel Hawaii (ice cream sandwiches) and Beyond Burgers, and entertainment, including Christmas caroling by Hawaii Opera Theatre’s Orvis Studios.
A gift-wrapping station will be open to complete your holiday purchases.

The Makery in Hilo stages open house
The Makery is hosting a Red & White Night’s First Friday Art Walk from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, an open house for its Hilo gallery and gift shop with family fun including ornament making, refreshments and music.
The Makery is a collection of tools, machines, materials and know-how which helps people turn ideas into products, with a mission "to empower people to create, manufacture and sell valuable products while adhering to the philosophy of made in Hawaii, by people who live in Hawaii, using environmentally responsible materials and processes."
The Makery is a model for a self-funding, community-driven vocational training and incubation facility.
