2 pedestrians hurt in separate accidents
Two people were injured, one critically, in separate pedestrian-related traffic incidents Friday evening.
At about 7:45 p.m. a 33-year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a bus on Farrington Highway near Jade Street in Makaha.
The man was transported in serious condition to a trauma center.
Less than 10 minutes later, a 45-year-old woman was struck by a car on Kalihi Street near North Nimitz Highway.
She was taken in critical condition to a trauma center.
Neither person was in a crosswalk when they were hit, according to Emergency Medical Services reports.
Motorcycle rider dies in Kaaawa collision
A man believed to be in his 30s died Friday afternoon after the motorcycle he was operating collided with a car on Kamehameha Highway in Kaaawa.
The collision occurred shortly after 1 p.m. and prompted police to close the highway for almost four hours while they investigated.
The man was transported in critical condition to a hospital, where he later died.
Kapolei man is identified as crash victim
A 20-year-old man who died in a two-car collision in Kapolei on New Year’s Eve has been identified as Alika H.F. White.
White, of Kapolei, died of cranial cerebral injury due to blunt force trauma to the head, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office. The manner of death was classified as an accident.
White was traveling north on Kealiiahonui Street in an off-road vehicle when he drove through a stop sign and struck a car driven by a 44-year-old Waipahu woman at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to reports. The car was traveling eastbound on Kamakahelei Street.
Paramedics took White in critical condition to a hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Suspect sought in attempted-murder case
Detectives opened an attempted-murder case in Honolulu on Friday morning.
Police are looking for a suspect, 19, who allegedly assaulted another man, 21, with a dangerous instrument at about 3:30 a.m. in McCully. The injured man was taken to Straub Clinic & Hospital in stable condition.
2 men wanted for Palolo store robbery
Police are looking for two men who robbed a Palolo Valley store Thursday.
Police said the men entered the store at 10:40 a.m.
One of them wielded a dangerous instrument and threatened the store owner, police said.
The pair took store property and fled without paying, police said.
