Free throws key for Hawaii Hilo women
Hayley Reynolds went 13-for-17 at the free-throw line and led three players in double figures as the Hawaii Hilo women’s basketball team defeated Dixie State (Utah) 68-63 Saturday in a Pacific West Conference game at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
Reynolds led the Vulcans (3-6, 2-3 PacWest) with 17 points, McKenzie Mangino had 15 and Kirstie Williams chipped in 11, including two 3-pointers.
Leslie Tademy had 16 points for the Red Storm (4-8, 3-3).
» Point Loma (San Diego) built a 14-point halftime lead and scored 40 second-half points to down Chaminade 77-46 in a PacWest contest Saturday at McCabe Gym.
The winless Silverswords (0-8, 0-4 PacWest) were led by Kennedi Akana with 10 points. Shana Kawakami and Kristle Henry each had eight points.
Madison West paced the Sea Lions (4-7, 2-2) with 15 points.
