Chaminade women record first victory
Katie Buskey had 17 points and four steals and Kristle Henry finished with 14 points and five steals as the Chaminade women’s basketball team recorded its first victory of the season, a 67-65 triumph over Fresno Pacific on Thursday at McCabe gym.
Shana Kawakami added 10 points for the Silverswords (1-9, 1-5), who led by as many as 16 points in the second half.
Charde Stevens had 18 points and Megan Lee finished with 17 for the Sunbirds (2-9, 2-4), who committed 33 turnovers.

HPU men topple Notre Dame de Namur
Luke Hager had 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists as the Hawaii Pacific men’s basketball team defeated Notre Dame de Namur 68-47 in a Pacific West Conference game at Blaisdell Arena.
Darry Jones Jr. finished with 11 points and Connor Loney added 10 for the Sharks (9-4, 4-3).
Jalen Young had 12 points for the Argonauts (2-11, 1-6).

Rainbow Wahine open season on Maui
Martina Kostalova served up the lone singles victory for UH as the Rainbow Wahine tennis team hosted No. 2 Duke and No. 7 California at Hawaii’s Spring Invitational on Thursday in Lahaina, Maui.
Kostalova downed Cal’s Lyann Hoang 7-6 (4), 6-2 to start the tournament that runs through Saturday at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch.
Viktoria Malova and Paulina Petriskova teamed up to give UH its only doubles victory — a 6-4 triumph over Cal’s Karla Popovic and Stephanie Lin.
Albert wins singles match for UH men
Felix Albert was the only University of Hawaii men’s tennis player to win a match Thursday in a competition against No. 39 Louisville at the UH Tennis Complex.
Albert beat Stjepon Cagalj 1-6, 6-2, 6-4, but the Rainbow Warriors dropped the other six singles matches.
