Paraglider was Utah resident
The city Medical Examiner’s Office said Wednesday that a paraglider who was killed in a crash at Kaena Point on Jan. 15 has been identified.
Clayton Butler, 30, of Salt Lake City died of blunt force injuries to his torso, the medical examiner said.
The case is classified as an accident.
Butler fell about 50 feet, Emergency Medical Services said.
He was conscious when bystanders got to him, but CPR was performed after he became unresponsive. Paramedics took him in critical condition to a hospital, where he died.
Body found in Kapalama Canal
A body of a man was pulled from the Kapalama Canal on Wednesday morning.
The Honolulu medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Police have classified the case as an unattended death pending the results of the autopsy.
Firefighters recovered the victim, believed to be in his late 20s, just before 8:30 a.m. under the bridge at Halona and Kohou streets.
2 arrested in alleged robbery
Police arrested two teens Tuesday for allegedly robbing a 19-year-old man in Kapolei.
Police said a 19-year-old Nanakuli man and a 17-year-old boy befriended the 19-year-old victim and then allegedly assaulted him at 12:20 p.m. when he refused to give them his personal property.
Police identified, found and arrested the two suspects at 1 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
Man who died of injuries is ID’d
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified on Tuesday a Honolulu man who was found unresponsive near the Kahala post office and later died as Alapati Anae.
Police said Anae, 23, was found in a parking lot about 5:50 p.m. Monday with injuries possibly sustained in an unwitnessed fall.
Paramedics transported Anae to a hospital in extremely critical condition, an Emergency Services Department supervisor said.

Stabbing death prompts murder investigation
Hawaii County police opened a murder investigation Tuesday after a man found with stab wounds in a Hilo parking lot died.
South Hilo patrol officers and paramedics responded to the stabbing about 4 p.m. on Kilauea Avenue. The victim was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where he later died.
Police have identified the victim as a 43-year-old man with no local address, but are withholding his name pending notification of family.
Police said two men confronted the victim in a grassy area between a business off Kilauea Avenue and the mauka soccer fields off Kamehameha Avenue. After being stabbed, the victim managed to walk to a drug store parking lot, where he was found.
