Pacific and Asian Affairs Council Board President C. Scott Wo, left, talked with James A. Kelly and board Chairman Warren K.K. Luke before the organization's annual awards dinner Thursday at the Kahala Hotel & Resort. Kelly, a retired naval officer and former assistant U.S. secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, is this year's recipient of the PAAC Paul S. Bachman Award. He was recognized for his career contributions in improving relations between the U.S. and its neighbors in Asia and the Pacific.
