Former University of Hawaii running back Joey Iosefa said he has accepted an invitation to participate in the National Football League’s scouting combine in Indianapolis next month.
Last year, NFL executives, scouts and coaches interviewed and evaluated the 335 pro prospects participating in the invitation-only event at Lucas Oil Stadium.

"We’re excited he got the invitation," said Aaron Gordon, Iosefa’s San Diego-based agent.
Last year, Iosefa averaged 102.8 rushing yards per game in a season abbreviated because of injuries and a suspension. In six games, he scored eight touchdowns and threw for another.
Gordon, who works for Uso Sports, said he has had discussions with 10 NFL teams about Iosefa.
Gordon was told Iosefa projects between a fifth-round selection and a free-agent signing.
While Iosefa has a fullback’s build, the Kansas City Chiefs view him as a big running back.
"Joey fits that mold," Gordon said.
Iosefa has been training in Hawaii under Chad Ikei.
"The main thing we’re focusing on is getting him as lean and as fast as possible," Gordon said.
Iosefa, who is 6 feet, played at about 248 pounds last season following his ankle injury. He expects to weigh 240 pounds at the combine.
Strength is not a concern. In UH testing, Iosefa bench-pressed a maximum 455 pounds. He also benched 225 pounds 30 times.
Iosefa said he has not been told whether he projects as a fullback or running back.
"We’ll see," Iosefa said.
Gordon said: "It depends on the team. I’m more excited about the prospect of him being able to carry the ball as a running back. He can do everything. He has a high skill level. We’re excited as to what he can do in front of the coaches (at the combine."
Iosefa has a two-step approach. He is preparing for the combine, as well as UH’s pro day in San Diego in March.
"I’m going to work hard," said Iosefa, who was raised in American Samoa. Iosefa earned a bachelor’s degree in December.
