HECO puts renewable projects online
Hawaiian Electric Co. customers can keep an eye on the progress of their renewable energy projects with an online tool the utility launched Friday.
The "Integrated Interconnection Queues" for each company — HECO, Maui Electric Co. and Hawaii Electric Light Co. — give both customers and developers access to see the status and progress of projects from rooftop solar up to utility-scale wind and solar projects, said HECO in a press release.
The IQQ will give customers a breakdown of their own application’s status at every stage of the interconnection process, and compare their own project with others proposed on the circuit in their neighborhood.
HECO said information will be updated monthly.
‘Lost’ actor joins cast of ‘Pali Road’
"Lost" actor Henry Ian Cusick has joined the cast of "Pali Road," a film by Crimson Forest Entertainment now being shot on Oahu.
The film stars Jackson Rathbone, Sung Kang and Michelle Chen, known for roles in such movies as "The Twilight Saga," "Fast & Furious" and "You Are the Apple of My Eye," respectively.
Elizabeth Sung, of "Memoirs of a Geisha," and Tzi Ma, of "Rush Hour," also are members of the cast.
"Pali Road" is based on an original screenplay written by Doc Pedrolie that tells the story of a woman who is in a terrible car accident the night her boyfriend proposes to her, according to a statement released by the studio.

James Campbell Co. has announced the following promotions:
» Tim Brauer to executive vice president of real estate investments. He was previously a senior vice president of real estate investments.
» Mary Ko to vice president of human resources. Ko has worked with the company and the Estate of James Campbell for the past 26 years.
» Corinne Hiromoto to senior asset manager. Since joining the company in 2013, Hiromoto has overseen the process of establishing Campbell Square, the first office building in Kapolei to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver-EB certification.
Hawaiian Host has promoted Alysha Komenaka to marketing coordinator. Her responsibilities include being design manager for product development projects as well as conducting market research for new products. She also will assist in the execution of marketing plans, goals and strategies. Prior to her promotion, Komenaka served as the company’s marketing assistant.
