According to police, a Nissan pickup truck was making a left turn from southbound Kuhio Highway onto Ahukini when it was struck by a moped traveling north on the highway.
The 23-year-old man operating the moped and his 20-year-old female passenger were treated for injuries at Wilcox Hospital. The passenger has since been released, and the moped driver remains in stable condition. The driver of the pickup, a 58-year-old man, did not report any injuries, police said.

The accident occurred when an eastbound Ford Ranger truck crossed the centerline of Kaumualii Highway and broadsided the passenger side of an oncoming Chevy Spark, which swerved to avoid the truck, police said. The female passenger in the Chevy was taken to Wilcox Hospital and was then medevaced to the Queen’s Medical Center, where she was in stable condition Tuesday. The driver of the truck, a 44-year-old man, was transported to Wilcox Hospital in stable condition and has since been released. The Chevy’s driver did not report injuries.
