After earning Big West Freshman of the Year honors, Chloe Barr began her sophomore season by scoring 13 goals in the eighth-ranked Rainbow Wahine water polo team’s season-opening road trip.
Barr matched her career high with four goals in a 15-5 season-opening win at Santa Clara on Jan. 29 and the Wahine went 4-2 on the trip with their losses coming against No. 2 UCLA and No. 4 Cal.
She scored three goals in a 10-8 win over No. 13 Indiana in the Stanford Invitational and netted three more, including the go-ahead score in overtime, in a 12-10 win against No. 7 San Jose State in UH’s final match of the tournament.
A member of the Australian national team, Barr was named the Big West’s top freshman after scoring 31 goals in 29 matches last season.
