Kahuku found a place to stay.
As of Thursday morning, the Red Raiders girls soccer team, due to a lack of hotel rooms available near Kailua-Kona on Hawaii Island, did not know where it was going to be staying for the state tournament at Konawaena starting tonight.
But the Red Raiders accepted an invitation Thursday afternoon to stay Friday night in the nearby Kealakehe High wrestling room, Kealakehe athletic director Alan Vogt said Thursday night.
“You might get the wrong mental picture — wrestling room — but it’s not an inhospitable place,” Vogt said. “Other teams have stayed there. It’s adjoining our gym and it’s clean.”
