Meth sentence has Kauai man off to prison
A 41-year-old Lihue man was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison in three separate cases involving a total of 90 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Samuel K. Lanning entered no-contest pleas on Dec. 8 to four counts of second-degree promoting a dangerous drug.
Kauai Circuit Judge Kathleen N.A. Watanabe handed down the sentence of the maximum 10-year prison term on each of the four charges. But the judge said three of the 10-year terms will be served at the same time, meaning there is a 10-year term for those two cases. That sentence will run back-to-back with a 10-year term in the other case.
