Dixie State softball sweeps HPU
The Hawaii Pacific softball team dropped a pair of close games to No. 7 Dixie State on Friday at Howard A. Okita Field.
In the first game, Michelle Duncan allowed an unearned run over seven innings in the Red Storm’s 2-1 victory.
The Sharks’ Kristen Caskey pitched a six-hitter.
In the second game, six Dixie State players drove in a run in a 6-4 win.
HPU’s Dorian Acierto hit a two-run homer.
The Red Storm improved to 23-5 overall and 14-0 in the PacWest. The Sharks fell to 10-6 and 3-5.

Jenna Lieber’s RBI single put the Lancers ahead and Loie Kesterson pitched a five-hitter.
In the first game, Kayla Hatch pitched a six-hitter in Cal Baptist’s 4-2 victory.
Hilo’s Colleen Aubrey batted 2-for-5 in the first game and 3-for-4, including a home run, in the second.
The Lancers improved to 23-6 overall and 11-3 in the PacWest, while the Vulcans dropped to 12-11 and 5-2.

The top four hitters in the Cougars’ lineup all had three hits. Sarah Captain drove in two runs for the Seasiders.
In the second game, Nicki Sprague batted 3-for-3 with five RBIs in Azusa Pacific’s 14-5 victory.
The Cougars improved to 16-14 overall and 10-9 in the PacWest, while the Seasiders dropped to 4-16 and 2-10.
Lu up by 2 shots at Pearl Country Club
Shawn Lu shot a 6-under-par 66 to take a two-stroke lead after the second round of the Hawaii State Amateur Stroke Play Championship on Friday at Pearl Country Club.
Lu is at 140, with first-round co-leader Nainoa Calip (73) in second and Justin Williamson (70) in third.
Andy Okita, who shared the lead after Thursday, shot a 76 and is tied for fifth.
The third round starts today at 11:20 a.m.
