Apparent stabbing sends man to hospital
A 46-year-old man was in serious condition Saturday afternoon after an apparent stabbing at a park near McKinley High School.
Paramedics responded to Sheridan Community Park at the corner of Piikoi and Elm streets at about 12:50 p.m. to treat a man with apparent stab wounds to his upper extremity after an argument with another person. He was transported to a nearby hospital.
2 male suspects sought after robbery in Kalihi
Police are looking for two men who robbed a 25-year-old man in his vehicle Saturday morning in Kalihi.
Police said the man was in a parked vehicle at about 1:50 a.m. when an unknown man approached from the passenger side and started talking to him.
At the same time, another man walked up with an unknown object and began assaulting the victim from the driver’s side of the vehicle, police said.
The first man opened the passenger door during the attack and grabbed the victim’s belongings. Both men fled before police arrived.
Officers opened a first-degree robbery case and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle case.
Coast Guard searches for overdue fishing boat
A Coast Guard crew from Oahu was searching a second day Saturday for an overdue commercial fishing vessel near the Marshall Islands, the Coast Guard said.
Clear Water 02, an 82-foot Micronesia-flagged vessel, was carrying eight Chinese nationals and a Marshallese and was scheduled to arrive in Majuro on Thursday for offloading, but did not show up.
After receiving a report of the overdue vessel on Thursday, the Coast Guard launched an HC-130 Hercules airplane from Barbers Point.
The plane’s crew arrived Friday morning, searched nearly 400 miles and deployed two self-locating buoys. Six good Samaritan vessels also assisted in the search.
Woman charged with harassment
Police on Friday charged a 48-year-old woman who was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening and harassing a bus operator in Honolulu.
Ann Marie Kelekolio of Mililani was charged with harassment, but was not charged with interference involving an operator of a transit vehicle.
Police said the woman also pushed a police officer who responded to the call at about 1 p.m. Wednesday.
