Cast member Danielle Zalopany celebrated with playwrights Bob Nelson, left, and Dennis Carroll after the opening night of Kumu Kahua's revival production of "Ka'iu•lani" on Thursday at the Kumu Kahua Theatre. Zalopany gives an emotionally engaging performance playing Ka'iu•lani as a young adult in this staging that Kumu Kahua premiered in Hono•lulu in 1987 and then presented as a touring company production until 1990.
