Boy seriously hurt when car hits him on the North Shore
A 4-year-old boy was in serious condition after being hit by a car Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred at about 4 p.m. in the Sunset Beach area of the North Shore on Kamehameha Highway.
Emergency Medical Services personnel said the child was transported to a hospital. No further information was available.
Credit union branch is robbed by man brandishing gun
Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the robber of the Oahu Federal Credit Union branch on Pauoa Road on Wednesday.
The bank was robbed at about 1:57 p.m., when a man who had been parked in a white Dodge Charger in the parking lot at 2219 Pauoa Road entered brandishing a handgun and demanding money. He fled in the Charger in the direction of Pali Highway.
He is described as about 5 feet 5 inches tall and of medium build. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellphone.
Ewa Beach man arrested in stabbing of male victim, 22
Police arrested a 19-year-old Ewa Beach man Wednesday on suspicion of second- degree attempted murder.
Police said the man and a 22-year-old man were arguing at 3:30 a.m. in Ewa Beach when the argument turned physical. The younger man allegedly stabbed the other, police said.

Canadian CEO dies following collapse at race
Paul Reynolds, chief executive officer of Canadian investment bank Canaccord Genuity Group Inc., has died after competing in the Lavaman Waikoloa Triathlon on Hawaii island last weekend. He was 52.
Reynolds died in Kona after being found floating during the swimming portion of the triathlon Sunday. The Toronto-based company didn’t provide further details on the cause of death in a statement Thursday.
Reynolds joined Canaccord in 1985 as an investment adviser and rose to become CEO in 2007. He led the company through a financial crisis that brought deals and lending to a standstill. He managed the London office as president of European operations from 1999 to 2007. Canaccord, founded in 1950, has more than 2,000 employees and branches in 10 countries.
Man charged in shooting case
A Kailua-Kona man has been charged with three offenses in connection with an accidental shooting of a woman with whom he had been taking target practice Tuesday in the forest near Hamakua.
Sean Smith II, 24, was charged Wednesday with second-degree reckless endangering and two weapon offenses. He was released on $10,500 bail.
At 6:26 p.m. Tuesday, Smith reported to police that the 24-year-old woman had been wounded while the two were target practicing. Police said the area is not designated as a gun range. The woman was taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound from a ricochet to her leg, police said.
