Hundreds of extras are needed for a feature comedy that will shoot on Oahu this summer, and the film’s producers say there are enough recurring scenes for steady work.

"Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates," a Twentieth Century Fox production starring Zac Efron and Adam DeVine, will hold an open casting call from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Turtle Bay Resort.

The production, which runs from June 1 through July, needs extras with flexible schedules for many scenes on the North Shore, according to casting director Katie Doyle.

"We are seeking a good number of people, several dozen, who would be with us for a good portion of the movie," Doyle said. "That means people have to have really flexible jobs. Or if we can make it financially attractive, they might be able to leave their jobs and come work for us for the summer."

Doyle needs men, women and children of all ages and backgrounds. Extras are needed to play tourists and locals. Doyle said there are opportunities for specific types of extras: college coeds, fit and athletic beach types, swimmers, paddlers, dancers, hospitality workers and restaurant staff.

SAG-AFTRA union members will be paid $152 for eight hours. The nonunion rate has not been set.

The entire movie will be shot in Hawaii, with some locations being used for mainland cities.

Efron ("High School Musical," "Neighbors") and DeVine ("Modern Family," "Pitch Perfect") are brothers who buy personal ads to find a pair of dates for a family wedding.
