» Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino (St. Anthony) is 5-for-14 since returning to the Red Sox lineup Monday with a double and his first home run of the season. His batting average jumped 61 points this week. The Boston Herald ran a story on the impact of Victorino’s return to health (bit.ly/1d8GPiR).
» The Red Sox recalled pitcher Steven Wright (Hawaii) from Triple-A Portland on May 10. In his only appearance since, Wright allowed three earned runs on six hits and three walks in 52⁄3 innings of relief against the A’s on Tuesday. He is scheduled to make his first major league start of the season Sunday in Seattle against the Mariners, in place of the injured Justin Masterson, which means Wright could be in line to make a few starts. Wright is 0-1 with a 4.50 earned-run average in two career starts.
» Gwinnett Braves pitcher Kanekoa Texeira (Kamehameha) returned from the disabled list Saturday and started against the Louisville Bats, allowing one run on four hits over four innings in a 3-1 loss, though Texeira did not figure in the decision.
» Catcher Carlton Tanabe (Pearl City) was demoted from the Double-A Jackson Generals to the High A Bakersfield Blaze on Monday.
» The Orioles promoted catcher David Freitas (Hawaii) to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides on May 8.
» Isiah Kiner-Falefa (Mid-Pacific) scored the winning run in the Hickory Crawdads’ "balk-off" 3-2, 10-inning win over the Savannah Sand Gnats on May 10.
