On the Scene: A birthday at Waialae

Yap usually celebrates with a luau at the family’s fishpond in Kahaluu, but Kaleikini’s “unplugged” singing with a trio of Hawaiian musicians gave this year’s birthday observance in town a similar “kanikapila make music” feeling.
