A 36-year-old woman is in police custody in connection with a stabbing and fire Wednesday in a Kalihi apartment.
Officers arrested the woman at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday on Pio Place, near the scene of the stabbing at 1531 Kamehameha IV Road, on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder, arson and first-degree terroristic threatening.
Paramedics took a 57-year-old woman to a hospital in serious condition following the stabbing at 9:45 p.m., Emergency Medical Services reported.
Police said the two women know each other. A 48-year-old man received minor wounds during the fight, police said.
Smoke was coming from the unit when firefighters responded to a report of a blaze and an assault, the Fire Department said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Man’s bail set at $250,000 in Oneula Beach Park shooting
A 67-year-old man was charged Wednesday in the shooting of a 52-year-old man at Oneula Beach Park in Ewa Beach.
Prosecutors charged Richard Gallarde, who has no local address, with second-degree attempted murder and a firearms offense. His bail was set at $250,000.

Police suspect arson on Big Isle
Hawaii island police suspect burglary and arson after a fire caused $20,000 in property damage to Verna’s Too Drive Inn in Mountain View.
Puna police said they responded to a 2:15 a.m. call Thursday about a fire at the restaurant off Highway 11, and found the front door open and extinguished a small fire burning inside. The fire was determined to be suspicious, and the owner of Verna’s said items were missing.

Man charged with 20 offenses
A Captain Cook man was charged Thursday with 20 offenses following an argument Tuesday between a man and a woman involving a handgun in a Kona parking lot.
Duane K. Grace was charged with one count each of kidnapping, robbery, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, violating parole, promoting a harmful drug and promoting a detrimental drug, four counts of promoting a dangerous drug, four counts of drug paraphernalia and six weapons offenses. His bail was set at $383,000.
Grace was being held in the cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Friday.
