A scary thought: poisoned by bad ahi
Given how much we in Hawaii love our raw fish, it’s concerning to hear that at least 53 people across nine states have come down with salmonella poisoning likely linked to raw tuna. Some 31 cases are in California, but reports have been from as farflung as Virginia and Mississippi; fortunately, none have been from Hawaii. Ten people needed hospitalization. As of Friday afternoon, a common brand or supplier had not been identified.
Let’s hope that can happen soon, so any steps needed to remedy the problem can begin.
