The city Medical Examiner’s Office identified a 25-year-old Honolulu man who died Sunday after he apparently lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail on the H-3 freeway.
The cause of death for Nickolaus Gilleran was blunt force impact to his head, the medical examiner said.
Excessive speed was believed to have been a factor in the crash, according to police.
The accident occurred at 2:18 p.m. in the Kaneohe bound lanes near the Like-like Highway offramp, police said. The rider, who was thrown from his motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
It was the 22nd traffic fatality on Oahu this year.
