Oregon State freshman K.J. Harrison, a 2014 Punahou alumnus, was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-America team on Wednesday.
Harrison, who was named the Pac-12 freshman of the year last week, hit .309 with 12 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs and a league-leading 60 RBIs.
He’s the first Hawaii-born freshman All-American since Hilo’s Kolten Wong, now with the St. Louis Cardinals, who was honored in 2009 in his first season at the University of Hawaii.
