Arkansas second baseman Rick Nomura (Punahou ’12) lifted a sacrifice fly to score one of three first-inning runs for Arkansas that held up in a 3-2 win over Missouri State on Sunday to advance to the College World Series.
Nomura hit fifth and was 0-for-2 with an RBI for Arkansas, which won the Super Regional against the No. 8 national seed to advance to the CWS for the first time since 2012 and eighth time in school history.
The attendance for Sunday’s finale at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark., drew 11,694 fans to bring the three-game total to 35,730.
The NCAA College World Series opens play Saturday in Omaha, Neb.
