A 28-year-old man turned himself in to police Monday after he was featured on “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted,” a cable television access program, for allegedly robbing a 30-year-old man in Hilo.
Aaron Castro was charged Monday with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and second-degree theft. Bail was set at $9,000.
Police said a man robbed another man outside an apartment unit on the 400 block of Waianuenue Avenue on May 23. The victim reported that an acquaintance hit him in the face, stole his backpack and fled in a vehicle.
Woman held in ID theft, credit card fraud
Police arrested a 20-year-old Waimanalo woman Wednesday on suspicion of identity theft and other offenses related to allegedly using a credit card stolen in a purse snatching in Waikiki.
Police said the woman robbed a 50-year-old woman in Waikiki, taking her purse May 14, and used the victim’s credit card to make purchases at different locations in Makiki.
The woman was identified and arrested at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree identity theft, unauthorized possession of confidential personal information, second-degree theft, attempted second-degree theft and nine counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Kauai man gets 20 years for violent Kapaa robbery
A state judge on Kauai sentenced a 29-year-old Anahola man Wednesday to 20 years in prison for a violent armed robbery at a Kapaa liquor store in February.
Circuit Judge Kathleen Watanabe also sentenced Kawika I. Manaku to an additional five years in prison for violating his probation for two previous burglary convictions.
Manaku must serve the two prison terms back to back for a total of 25 years.
Watanabe also ordered Manaku to spend at least 11 years and eight months behind bars before he is eligible for parole.
The Hawaii Paroling Authority can impose a higher minimum term.
Manaku pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery in March.
In the robbery case, surveillance video shows Manaku, armed with a weapon, repeatedly hit the owner of Kapaa Liquor & Wine Co. on Feb. 2, the county prosecutor’s office said in a news release.
The Garden Island had reported that the victim, 70, suffered multiple lacerations to his face and head for which he received stitches and staples. He also suffered a dislocated finger.
