The Honolulu Police Department is holding informational sessions for those interested in becoming a police radio dispatcher or a police officer.
An informational session on becoming a dispatcher will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at HPD’s headquarters, 801 S. Beretania St.
On Saturday, HPD will hold an open house for those interested in a career as a police officer. Informational sessions, tours and demonstrations begin at 9 a.m. at the HPD training academy at 93-093 Waipahu Depot St.
Applications for metropolitan police recruit will be accepted Sunday to July 16. Applicants must be at least 20 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
Those who want to attend either event are asked to register at joinhonolulupd.org or facebook.com/joinhpd.
