Kahuku alum B.J. Beatty was chosen as one of two captains for the U.S. national football team that will play at the International Federation of American Football World Championship in Canton, Ohio.
Beatty, a linebacker who played at Colorado, and quarterback Kevin Burke were voted as captains by team members. The U.S. squad opens play in the seven-team tournament against Mexico on Thursday. The Americans are seeking their third consecutive gold medal.
All tournament games will be shown live on ESPN3.
