Former University of Hawaii athletic director Hugh Yoshida has been named chairman of the board for ‘Ahahui Koa Anuenue, the non-profit fundraising arm of UH athletics, the school announced.
Yoshida was AD for 10 years until his 2002 retirement. He succeeds Al Chee, who is terming off the board after the requisite two-year period.
“We were very fortunate to coax Hugh out of retirement to help us realize these new revenue generating opportunities so that we can increase the level of student-athlete support for the athletic department,” said Jonathan A. Kobayashi, AKA president.
