Remembering Bastille Day
REMEMBERING BASTILLE DAY
Guillaume Maman, honorary French consul in Hawaii, left, and Patricia Lee, honorary French consul in Hawaii emeritus, celebrated with Siegfried Ramler at the Alliance Francaise of Hawaii “Bastille Day” dinner July 14 at the Waialae Country Club. The French holiday commemorates the storming of the Bastille, a French prison, on July 14, 1789, the event that is generally seen as the start of the French revolution. Ramler helped found Alliance Francaise of Hawaii more than 40 years ago.
