Sailor Mark Towill, who served on the crew of Team Alvimedica in this year’s Volvo Ocean Race, will share stories and photos about the challenges faced in the around-the-world yacht race during a presentation July 28 at the Kaneohe Yacht Club.

Many sailors consider the Volvo Ocean Race to be the sailing equivalent of climbing Mount Everest.

Tickets are $45 for adults (includes a drink ticket) and $20 for children 12 and under (includes a kids buffet).

The event begins with pupu at 6:30 p.m. at the yacht club, 45-503 Kaneohe Bay Drive.
