Beren Wong wasn’t born when “Pac-Man,” “Donkey Kong” and “Centipede” were taking over the video game world in the ’80s, but that didn’t stop him from winning the “Pixels” art contest by Jelly’s Hawaii.
The 11-year-old, who will be entering Punahou School this coming year, has played the “Pac-Man” game only while waiting to be seated at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Ward Warehouse. He doesn’t have a clue about the other ’80s games.
Beren won two VIP passes to the early screening of Adam Sandler’s new movie, “Pixels,” held Wednesday, as well as a “Pixels” shirt, sunglasses and poster.
Penny Atcheson took second place and Jupiter Aguirre held the third spot.
