Celerity expected first in Transpac Race

Celerity, with skipper Harry Zanville, is expected to be the first of 52 boats to complete the 2,225-mile Transpac Race from Long Beach, Calif., to Diamond Head.

Celerity, a 2009 Santa Cruz 37, was about 200 miles from the finish at Thursday’s final roll call. Celerity is expected to arrive sometime Friday morning.

The race started July 13 with boats setting out in three waves.
