Adding to the list of new entertainment facilities planned for the Strip, MGM Resorts International has announced plans to build a 5,000-seat entertainment venue intended to compete with the Colosseum at Caesars Palace and Axis at Planet Hollywood.
The as-yet-unnamed $100 million theater will be built at the Monte Carlo on the site of the Blue Man Group Theater, adjacent to the under-construction Las Vegas Arena and The Park outdoor complex.
The displaced Blue Men will return to their original Las Vegas home at the Luxor, which has the domino effect of displacing dance troupe Jabbawockeez, which will head to MGM Grand. The new Monte Carlo theater is projected to welcome its first acts at the end of 2016.
