>> Hawaii alums Kolten Wong (Kamehameha-Hawaii) and Greg Garcia played large roles in two ofthe St. Louis Cardinals four victories last week. On Monday, Wong hit a grand slam in a 4-1 win overthe Reds. Garcia was called up from Triple-A on Thursday and drew a walk that drove in Wong withthe decisive run in a 9-8 win over the Rockies.

>> Also on Thursday, Boston right-hander Steven Wright (Hawaii) improved his record to 4-4 with hisbest start of the year. Wright allowed two earned runs on six hits over a seson-high seven innings foran 8-2 victory over the White Sox.

>> The Rays called up reliever Kirby Yates (Kauai) on Friday.

>> The Red Sox traded outfielder Shane Victorino (St. Anthony) to the Angels on Monday. Victorinohelped Boston to a 2013 World Series title, but his contract is up at the end of this season and theRed Sox are out of playoff contention.

>> Punahou alum Michael Suiter has hit in 11 straight games for the Kannapolis Intimidators. He alsohas stolen three bases during that stretch.

>> In his most recent two appearances, Kannapolis right-hander Matt Cooper (Hawaii) picked up his10th save of the season Tuesday in a 1-0 win over the Lakewood BlueClaws and improved to 3-0 byfinishing off a 4-3 victory over the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Cooper hasn t allowed a run in his lastnine appearances, giving up four hits in 101D 3 innings with no walks and 20 strikeouts in the Class ASouth Atlantic League, picking up four saves in the process.

>> Oufielder Ka ai Tom (Saint Louis) had a huge night Tuesday for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers,going 5-for-5 with four RBIs in a 9-2 rout of the Connecticut Tigers. The next day, Jodd Carter (Hilo)hit a game-winning RBI double in the 10th to give the Scrappers a 4-3 victory over the Tigers.

>> Tyler Brashears (Hawaii) made his pro debut Saturday with the Rookie League GCL Rays. Heallowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk in an inning of relief in an 11-4 loss to theGCL Orioles.

>> Outfielder Jensen Park ( Iolani) of Grand Junction will represent the Pioneer League in an all-stargame against the Northwest League on Tuesday.

>> The Marlins demoted L.J. Brewster (Hawaii) to the GCL Marlins in rookie ball. Brewster allowedone run in 10 innings in his first three appearances.

>> Helena Brewers right-hander Jordan Yamamoto (Saint Louis) has had a rough season for the mostpart, but came through with a strong start Friday against the Great Falls Voyagers, with seven shutoutinnings. He left with a 4-0 lead, but his bullpen allowed seven runs in the eighth and he had nodecision in the 7-4 loss.
