Noelani Mahoe, left, welcomed Hawaiian cultural expert Ka‘upena Wong, a longtime friend, to the af- ternoon book-signing party for her new Hawaiian song book, “Ho‘ahu ‘Ana o na Mele,” Sunday at Na Mea Hawai‘i in Ward Warehouse. Wong shared some of his favorite memories of Mahoe before she stepped forward to teach the crowd the correct pronunciation of the lyrics of four songs in the book and then lead everyone in singing them.
