Among those who this week publicly celebrated Hawaii’s 56th year of statehood was the Hawaii Senate Minority — and it was unanimous.
That’s right, Hawaii’s only Republican state senator, Sam Slom, was in full agreement with himself that the occasion was worth celebrating, and issued a media release to say so. It also added a bit of information that might come in handy during a trivia game some day:
“Slom is presently the only single-member caucus in any legislature in the United States. Slom serves on all Senate committees, sub-committees and special committees, is minority leader and floor leader, and is vice chair of the Senate Committee on Economic Development, Environment and Technology.”
Pretty cool. But he probably wouldn’t mind some political reinforcements some day … eventually.
