An 80-year-old woman died Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle on Kamehameha Highway in Hauula, Emergency Medical Services said.
Paramedics treated the woman about 7 p.m. and transported her in critical condition to a hospital, EMS said. Police said she later died at the hospital.
Kamehameha Highway was closed in Hauula in both directions following the pedestrian accident.

Ex-Kauai man gets 10-year sentence for sex assault
A 31-year-old Honolulu man was sentenced Wednesday to a 10-year prison term for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Kauai Circuit Judge Kathleen Watanabe sentenced Joel J.P. Ibana for the assault that occurred in April 2010 when Ibana was living on Kauai.
Ibana pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and third-degree sexual assault.
A bench warrant was issued for Ibana in December 2013 after a grand jury indicted him on six counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree sexual assault.
U.S. marshals in Tacoma, Wash., arrested him in January 2014.
