Tiera Arakawa’s first collegiate goal lifted the Hawaii Hilo women’s soccer team to a 1-0 overtime victory over Chaminade on Thursday at Saint Louis Field.

Arakawa’s goal at 99:35 off an assist from Danika Steele ended the Vulcans’ 11-match winless streak.

Hilo is 1-0-1, while Chaminade fell to 1-2.

>> Erika Ellis scored the go-ahead goal at 83:17 as the Hawaii Pacific women’s soccer team beat Brigham Young-Hawaii 2-1 on Thursday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Noelle Mercado scored for the Sharks at 9:54 and the Seasiders’ Natalie Reynolds equalized at 77:50.

HPU improved to 2-2, while Brigham Young-Hawaii dropped to 0-2.

HPU men topple BYU-Hawaii 2-1

Christopher Campbell and Josch Cuerten scored as the Hawaii Pacific men’s soccer team beat Brigham Young-Hawaii 2-1 on Thursday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Campbell scored at 40:48 and Cuerten’s goal came at 58:40 for the Sharks (1-2).

Steven Rodriguez scored for the Seasiders (1-2) at 64:10.

>> The University of Hawaii Hilo men’s soccer team capitalized on miscues to beat Chaminade 3-0 on Thursday at Saint Louis School field.

The Vulcans (1-2) scored on an own goal at 15:03, Oswel Mariles’ penalty kick at 55:20 and Trenton Hooper’s goal at 77:32.

The Silverswords dropped to 0-2.
