The state Department of Health issued a brown-water advisory for Waimanalo Beach Park on Wednesday, advising the public to avoid floodwater and stormwater runoff due to possible overflows of wastewater, pesticide and other flood debris.
Officials with the department’s Clean Water Branch said not all coastal areas may be affected by the runoff but they were worried about overflows from brown water in the beach park area, including water from cesspools, sewers and manholes.
